For starters, I was born in Birmingham, Alabama on September 21, 1995. I was born with dislocated hips which put me in a body cast from my armpits down to my ankles when I was just a month old. I was adopted by the most amazing people. My mom and dad both play tennis and my dad is a tennis director at a country club where we live. My mom works at a plant nursery and is also a real estate agent (My mom plays tennis for exercise and because it's fun). This year (2012) my mom was my school's high school varsity tennis coach and took us all the way to state. She was the first coach to have won our 5A tennis conference and take Runner-Up in the 5A tennis state tournament. She is amazing. I have a little sister named Margaret Porter. She is 12 years old and very athletic. She plays tennis and is number 46 in the girls 12's age group in the south. My sister and I don't get along sometimes and fight quiet often but we both know that we love each other and care for one another. My family is christian. I have grown up in a christian home and have attended church since I was a baby. Knowing that their is a God who created everything out of nothing is just amazing. I'm so blessed that God can forgive us for our sins and that He gave His son Jesus who is our Messiah to die on the cross and that His blood was shed for our sins.
My family has 2 dogs. We have a chocolate lab named Noah and a shepherd lab mix named Lucy. My mom gave Noah the nickname Little Man because he considered a part of the family instead of just a pet. We also have a 1 year old dog named Lucy. Lucy is the cutest dog! We aren't exactly sure what breed/s she is because we got her at a flee market in BeeBee (A town near LR) from a farmer. He told us that Lucy and this other adorable puppy were left on door step when they were just born. He bottle fed them and now that they were 6 weeks old he wanted to give them away to caring and loving homes where he knew that they would be taken care of. He told us that he couldn't afford to keep them anymore because he already had a lot of animals (farm animals). When we took her to the vet for the first time the vet thought that Lucy was a shepherd lab mix but she wasn't sure. She said that she had never seen a dog like our Lucy.
In LR there are 40 different private schools. When I say schools I mean preschool, elementary, middle school, high school, and even colleges. There are some nice public schools but the private schools are just as nice. Public school in LR is great for those who will be in AP or advanced courses. For me, I go to a private school. When I moved to LR, going into my freshman year of high school, I had an opportunity to choose where I got to go to school. I looked at public and private schools but the public schools here in LR are very big and honestly I wanted to go to a school where I could know everyone in my grade. In middle school I went to a public school in Birmingham, AL called Berry Middle School. I loved my school but I didn't like that there was over 300 kids in 8th grade graduating class. Knowing that the public schools in LR have large numbers of kids in each grade made me want to go to private school so that I could know everyone. It was hard to choose what school to go to but I trusted God and prayed that He would help me make the right choice. With the help of God I chose to go to Little Rock Christian Academy or LRCA. I have 130 kids in my class (the class of 2014). I chose to go to LRCA because I love the fact that I can go to a school where my religion could be discussed and shared about in school. My school pray's at the beginning of every class, we have a biblical worldview class, and we have chapel once a week.
All of my friends go to my school. I have 5 best friends and a lot of friends. 3 of my best friends go to my school and the other 2 go to different schools. My best friends that are girls are Kristen, Claire, and Cara. Kristen and Claire are both in my grade at my school and both play tennis. Cara is a freshman at Mount Saint Mary's which is an all girls school in LR. I love my friends and feel that I can tell them anything. My other 2 best friends are guys and 1 of them goes to my school and other goes to a different school. Will Clark is a freshman at my school and is my best guy friend/ little brother. We have a really closed relationship and I feel that I can tell him anything. If I need someone to just sit and listen to what's going on in my life I can always count of Will Clark to be there for me. I can ask him to advice and he can ask me as well. We are practically brother and sister. Lastly my other best guy friend is Corey Gray. Corey is like my athletic/fun hang out friend. He goes to Pulaski Academy and plays football for them. Corey is very athletic and is my work buddy. He is always willing to work out with me at our local gym. He always gives me tips on how I can gain arm strength.
Well this post is really long and I really didn't mean to be so I'm sorry that it was. These are the things about my life wrapped in a nut shell. If you have any questions about me or my friends feel free to ask!
